IO2 PRO-YOUTH learning modules and pilot training activities
The scope of this intellectual output is to develop tools for training a skilled labor force, which can help promote innovation in the field of tourism by focusing moreover on an aspect with incredible development potential: heritage tourism. This area is underdeveloped in the participating countries (Italy, Romania, Croatia and Bulgaria) and related training is possible only on the tertiary level and it is often only a theoretical one. Nevertheless, the innovation inherent in the project PRO-YOUTH is that we pointed out that there are several skills and competencies related to cultural and heritage tourism that can be acquired through short-term on-the job training that would enhance the employability of NEETs. The Intellectual Output 2 is the result of the first theoretical phase of the project. In the ongoing implementation phase the methodology designed within IO1 is being put to test in three steps: (1) Design and translation of learning modules based on the PRO-YOUTH methodological framework (IO1) (2) Training on the use of the learning modules for project partners (see LTTA) and local stakeholders in each country (3) Local training activities, to test the developed modules in practice with the duration of 10 weeks involving 20 young people/NEETs in Italy, Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia What has been achieved so far: The PRO-YOUTH partnership network has been working on developing the learning modules since August 2019, and several virtual partner meetings have been held to discuss the topic. Each partner is responsible for one part of the learning modules, which will be published in a handbook.
